cotton candy

i went to the cubs game last night with ed. i got the beer, he got the hotdogs. what was so memorable was that we also bought cotton candy. it was blue-pink-blue colored and ed ate all the blue pieces. ive never seen a grown man devour and enjoy cotton candy like that before other than my brother. its funny how guys act all tough but deep down inside they enjoy the finer things in life...like cotton candy. :)

i finally played on my fall softball league today. last week was our first game (double-header) but i missed it cause it was my birthday and i had plans with co-workers and friends.

lets start off with me getting lost. heh. i took the 151 bus going northbound from work to "Lake Shore & 1540N" and there is no such stop. frickin' cta bus planner. we're passing up lincoln park zoo and im thinking i passed it up. shiet. so i get out at stockton and something and my hands start to sweat. i contacted my coach and find out that i just overshot the field by like 5-6 blocks. so i start walking with my backpack and friggin' laptop. argh.

we won the game, 8-2. its a co-ed recreational league 12" underhand and the other teams supposedly bring beers to the field. whatever. it was so jacked when 2 of the opponents chicks asked us if they can borrow our mitts. at that point, i was like "we better beat this team!"

the pitcher couldn't pitch to me so she walked me 3 times in a row. and shortstop yelled "she's not gonna hit". screw you. stupid piece of crap. id hit the ball if the pitcher would pitch over the plate. i love softball. ive loved it since 4th grade. but i dont love dumbasses like that prick.

i smell. i need to shower.

frickin' frick! i just missed my train. argh. what will i do for the next hour?

i took my family out last night for my birthday @ lawry's.

wine, salad, mashed potatoes, meat, bread pudding, more meat, cream spinach, more meat, a little birthday cake and the chocolate bag dessert was awesome

now its time to lose weight. how sad will my life be for the next 4 weeks? very very sad.

my 1st happy hour

i just got back from my 1st ever happy hour with co-workers. im so buzzed right now. i think im screwed. my birthday party is in 1.5 hours. doh.

so last night...
my intentions for going to paul's "guinea pig session" was to just have 1-2 drinks. i wanted to support the new bartender. but, that wasn't the case. oh well. i had fun. drinking games like "red or black", "odds or evens" and "99" was fun. what wasn't fun was when pj decided to write on me with a permanent marker. oh pj. anywho...we or i stopped drinking at around 1ish and i was way too drunk to drive fatima home and myself, so we crashed on the sofa bed. i was knocked out, but paul was so kind to give me centrum and water. not sure if that did the trick, but im not hung over. just tired. we woke up at 530 and i got back to my brother's at 6. my parents called me at 8 and -- me being dead honest with them -- told them that i just got home a couple hours ago. oh well. they're in another state right now. instead of a 5min shower, i was in there for 15min. i came out like a raisin. (thanks pj!) stupid writings wouldn't scrub off and i think i missed the writings on my upperarms cause i couldn't reach. good thing i packed a 3/4 sleeve cardigan. anywho, i got to work at 9. my cube is decorated...streamers and balloons everywhere. my co-worker made me a cake and the surrounding cubicle squatters sang "happy birthday" to me. i got a bag of 12 McD's hashbrowns from another co-worker, so i totally smell like oil right now. lunch at vong's thai kitchen at 12. cant wait. ill write some more later...

im stuffed. had peanut noodle salad. my mom told me that for 24 years, ive always had noodles on my birthday so i didnt break tradition. long noodles = long life. its 145pm and im tired and kind of nervous.

its 515 and im going to have my 1st ever happy hour with my co-workers...ever! then afterwards, the real drinking begins.
