McDonald's Tests Pepsi Products
According to an article in today's Atlanta Journal-Constitution, McDonald's fast-food chain is experimenting with bottled Pepsi beverages in College Station, Texas, and metro Kansas City. It states that a nine-month beverage test, which features Pepsi's Mountain Dew, Gatorade, Propel Fitness Water, Lipton tea and Tropicana Pure Premium juice products, shows there is a demand for these products -- challenging Coca-Cola's more than 50-year relationship with McDonald's.

While the article states it is "unlikely" Pepsi will win McDonald's Coke contract any time soon, if the test rolls more widely, it could "chip away" at Coke's fountain business.

According to McDonald's spokeswoman Danya Proud, the company has been encouraged by what its heard from customers, but it is still continuing to weigh test results and whether to expand the tests.

Matthew Reilly, a Chicago-based stock analyst for Morningstar summed it up, by saying that consumers are looking for the brands they know, wherever they want them. Because of that, he said in in the article, "It's not going to be, 'Coke IS the only thing,' anymore."

my brother just called me at work to tell me that he just had a double-double.

while he was breaking the bad news to me, i put my head down on my arm and i literally drooled on my sleeve. i begged him to bring home a 2 x 2 with fries for me but he refused and laughed and refused some more.

its only a 4-hour plan ride home...it won't spoil.

i normally don't believe in the whole "this is the world's best coffee" or "this pizza is to die for", but in-n-out burgers are the best burgers and fries on the planet. he didn't even know that they offered 3 x 3s or 4 x 4s. hes so not worthy.

current mood: sad.

i started the new year on no feet with a four-legged friend on my lap.
...so far, so good...
i've managed to maintain and strengthen the close friendships that i currently have. the only reason i can do this is because the other person wants the same thing. thank you, j.l. thank you, c.m. thank you, p.d.c. thank you, j.m. thank you, i.m. family doesn't count as a friendship because having a close relationship is a given, but thank you, a.l. thank you, r.a.

on the other hand, there are a handful of individuals that i once called my close friends but they're not so much anymore. its sad but having to constantly reschedule get-togethers is bleh. its a two-way street and its not fair for me to waste my time or wait around anymore. its hard when you try but you don't see them try. oh well, oh fell.
