Puggles...UNITE!!!

Gus and Bode just met...for the first time. Hilarious and absolutely adorable.

Gus is definitely the kuya (older brother) of the two.
Bode is the annoying/younger one.

Gus would sit inside the crate. Then Bode would come up to Gus and sniff his face then start to nibble on his ears. What a provoker! Bode always wants to play, play, play. So cute. Gus is 3 years old and Bode is almost 8 months old.

Shot out to Myra for introducing the Leynes Family to Puggles.

coming soon...Pictures and Videos.

myLent: no facebook

no facebooking for 40 days. if im looking at the calendar correctly, ill be back sept 10.

im not a hardcore facebooker but i think it skews your relationship with others. e-relationships doesnt come close to the real thing. i remember joining in sept08. the main/only reason was to reconnect with my classmates from highschool prior to seeing them all again at my 10-year highschool reunion. fb did its job. but now? its adding no value to the relationships that i already cherish. that reminds me of the college research paper that i wrote about information overload.

anywho...lets see what happens for the next 40 days and 40 nights.

welcome home, patring...

my mom is coming home tomorrow. its bittersweet. she left exactly 2 months ago to spend time with her mom before she passed. im so excited for her to finally come back home. the person thats been waiting for her to come home the most is my dad. so im happy for him that he gets his wife back. its been a challenging 2 months without her but id do it all over again just so she can spend time with her family. if i could move mountains, id move the philippines and push it closer to the states. right now, im just praying for a safe flight and safe arrival.

world's largest block party...

this was my 2nd year of volunteering at Old St. Pat's World's Largest Block Party. i was one of three that had the food certification for the tent. i had a great time throwing the meat on the grill; keeping the frozen meats iced; telling volunteers to wash their hands; listening to the fri cover band; eating dogs; drinking beer. i do feel guilty about one thing. i caught myself wishing that ray were next to me to experience this event since last year i did it all alone. im not a needy girlfriend but i guess it'd be nice to share experiences with someone. dont get me wrong, i do spend quality time with my parents and my family. then i thought about it again. im actually okay...im okay. toughen up, buttercup. i have to remember to keep doing what i love (i.e.: volunteering, playing sports, reaching long-term goals) regardless of who is in my life or not. i think a majority of what i was feeling was a combination of (a) wanting ray to experience/see for himself that his girlfriend is a huge volunteering dork and (b) something else that i just can't describe right now. its not neediness but its having that person with you, by your side, supporting you. im not saying that ray doesnt support me. the only way i can explain is sharing examples.
...its like how my dad has my mom.
...its like how archie has myra.
...its like how the stars have the moon.

they don't supplement one another, rather they complement one another.
each object is beautiful and complete on its own.
bleh...now im just rambling. someone beer me, please.

ToR Party

ive been living at my place for almost 2 years. this summer, i decided to throw a taste of randolph street party. i just threw a party yesterday with ray's help. i had a blast. ive always wanted to throw a party like that where we had friends from different groups come together and just have fun. my college friends, friends of friends, softball teammates. ray's college friends, clubbing friends. and then, of course, our mutual friends. it really meant a lot to me to throw such a successful party with ray. the icing on the cake was that he made his mmmMMMM shortribs. yum! this ToR Party will be an annual thing. cant wait for 2010.

Lola Amanda

Feb 7, 1922 - May 27, 2009 @ 9:30AM

my beloved lola passed away in her sleep. 87 years young.
ill miss her...i love her...shes with lolo now and ninong endong.

she really did wait until my mom came home. im glad that my mom got to spend one good week with lola. im sad but happy that lola isn't in anymore pain.

back when i was in grade school/middle school, my lola lived with us. we shared a bedroom so you can say we were roommates. "good night...sweet dreams...i love you" is the phrase we said to one another before we slept every night.

now, its "good night...sweet dreams...i love you...i miss you".

a first on mother's day

today was the first mother's day that i didn't spend with my mom.
shes in london/paris with my dad, brother and sister-in-law.
i did give her her gift before they left for europe. as i was giving it to her, thats when i realized that it would be the first time we wouldn't be together for mother's day. we both cried...sheesh. women...haha. but yeah. it was tough getting through the day.

my bf was nice enough to include me in his plans with his mom. it was nice.

i miss my mom.

5.07.2009

feeling...

...neglected.

is "space" a good thing? does it really make the heart grow fonder? or does it make you realize you've been missing out on so much? eh. whatever. time to move on.

last night, i had a meat buffet with one of my good guy friends. it was his turn to take me out. we have this dinner ritual/thing that we've been doing for almost like 4-5 years? lets just say that we always pick up where we left off...before busy season started...haha. i love and enjoy the relationship we have. i can give him honest feedback and vice versa. i was being so open and raw with him and i asked him to promise me...and he did. he promised me that BFs do certain things not to be hurtful but because they are just being guys. and that deep down, BFs really do care about you and that they are thinking/missing you...they just don't show it.

thanks buddy.
.hug.

btw...the oysters, ahi tuna and pineapple @ brazzaz is magnifique!
