i just received notification today that i received the harvey c. russell inclusion award for all the work i did for pepsico at last year's naaap convention in chicago. wow.

New Addition to the Chairman's Award - PepsiCo's Highest Honor
The Chairman's Award is the highest honor at PepsiCo. It recognizes and rewards those individuals and teams who have distinguished themselves as truly extraordinary and serve as an inspiration to all of us. One of the elements of the Chairman's Award is to honor those who have helped PepsiCo further its goal to build a diverse and inclusive culture. The Harvey C. Russell Award has been created as part of the Chairman's Award to further highlight our commitment to world-class performance in diversity and inclusion.

Why Is This Award Important?

Who Was Harvey C. Russell?
Harvey C. Russell became the first African-American vice president of a major international corporation when he was appointed Vice President, Pepsi-Cola, in 1962. He spent his 32-year career at PepsiCo promoting the company and creating a legacy of excellence in corporate citizenship.

Eligibility
Within PepsiCo, the Harvey C. Russell Inclusion Award is intended to recognize employees for their "above and beyond" accomplishments in the areas of diversity and inclusion. Active employees in all countries are eligible, and teams or individuals may be nominated.

i got pretty drunk at jeff's party this past saturday @ belly's. good times. met a cute guy but soon found out that he had a girlfriend. <abby makes a fist with her right hand, raises her fist to the sky and shakes it> doh! oh well.

sunday morning i woke up at 8:30 AM and was dying for some water. i usually have bottled water on my bed so that i can enjoy fake mountain water anytime, but...alas...there wasn't any. so i squirmed and contemplated if i should mosey on down to the kitchen to get water. i was pretty hungover and felt like "ass...big hairy ass". so i feel back asleep after an hour or so. i woke up a couple hours later and there was a bottle of water next to me. <abby makes a fist with her left hand, raises her fist to the sky and shakes it> doh!

i love the christmas season. i have only one more present to buy (white elephant new for the cousin gift exchange) and then im done.

if you're reading this on 12.25.05, "merry christmas!" my parents and i (and maybe kuya and ate) will be going to midnight mass. then afterwards, we'll eat some of my mom's famous bone-in-ham with orange juice and pineapple juice sauce. plus some fresh from the oven dinner rolls. mmmmMMM! we'll wake up christmas day to open gifts and then head over to my cousin's for the leynes family christmas party. there will be 60+ leynes' celebrating jesus birthday in one household.

"I'm going to invent the cigarette that smells like something good... like potpourri or something. I want to be able to walk inside from smoking a cigarette and have someone tell me... you smell nice.... what is that... juniper breeze? I think if I can invent that... I'd be rich."

second email
"Off the subject but I had a dream that one of my front teeth fell out because I haven't been taking care of it. The dream started out with me chewing on something hard like a piece of candy. And then I felt something weird. I thought it was something stuck in between my teeth. So I was picking at it and I can feel my finger nail getting between my teeth but that uncomfortable feeling was still there. So I decided to look in the mirror to see if I was missing it. When I looked, one of my teeth was dangling. I tried to put it back and when I did... it fell off. I remember waking up at 6am this morning making sure I still had all my teeth."
